Damn. He was a hell of an actor. Did a bunch more stuff than Trailer Park Boys, but that is where most folks recognize him, including me. Depressing though it may be, he was unreal at playing a hardcore blind drunk.
My favorite Jim Lahey drunk-ass scene. WARNING! this scene contains bad language and overall poor taste.

Tough news to take this morning. Not a surprise considering the diagnosis, but very sad nonetheless.
Been a fan since 1986. Seen them play many times over the years, even in Canada.
Interestingly, the Hip produced a music video with the Trailer Park Boys way back when. Jim Lahey isn't in there, but the TPB boys were good friends of the band. Don Cherry makes an appearance, too. He delivers the chicken.
BTW, Gord is the one singin' and dancin' weird.

AFAIK CBC has a streaming option on their website cbc.ca , never tried it so I can't vouch for it's reliability. Not to be outdone by the goverment subsidized CBC, CTV is advertising a showing of Long time running tomorrow night as well.
