| Tex Winter, at least according to the LA Times, did not "create" the triangle offense, as Southern Cal's coach Sam Barry was using it when Tex arrived as an assistant coach. But he certainly perfected and espoused it and his championship numbers speak for themselves. |

| Sad about Paul Allen. He seemed much more grounded than Bill Gates through most of his career. He also certainly gave back, reportedly more than $2B to causes important to him. |

| Funny story about Paul. He bought a used Boeing 757-200 that was stored in the desert with the intention of converting it to his own private plane and he did it before Trump. But the real story was he wanted matching numbers as delivered from factory. So they tracked down the original landing gear ( main and nose) and both engines either Pratt Whitney or Rolls Royce had them overhauled and reinstalled, then it got a full on custom interior. Aft service doors were deleted and re skinned by Boeing because money was no object but we did the landing gear and winglet mods. Nobody in the industry had ever heard of matching number 757, it’s just not done nor does it add any value but he wanted it. |

All his vintage restorations were just as obsessive, a buddy of mine worked for him and the level of accuracy and correctness was the gold standard, "screw the cost, if we have to manufacture cotton braid insulated wire varnished in different colors then do it!", his collection is a must see: https://flyingheritage.org/

So here’s the storyline. Don bought it from Paul in 2011. Paul bought it from a leasing company in early 2000s as it sat idle in desert storage. Before that it belonged to Mexican airline TAESA 1994 to 1995. Was purchased new by a defunct carrier named Sterling Airways, Copenhagen in 1991. Nice pics of it all over the interwebs. |

Dorcas Reilly-Tomato soup pioneer. Creator of green bean casserole, tuna noodle casserole and tomato soup meatloaf. She died Oct 15 at 92 years old.
Remember her this Thanksgiving.
Her tuna noodle casserole did rate "truly exceptional" and score a 95 on casserole seekers with 500 reviews.
