Sad news- I've liked every role he's played.

Many memorable roles, including "Erin Brockovich" and the third "Bourne" movie.

John H. Haynes died at the age of 80. One or two of his books probably sits on most of our shelves. They have helped me many times.

I don't know why, but this link was refused on my work computer... it wanted a login, too.

Anyway, I liked those books. The production values weren't slick, and some of the photos seemed too dark (maybe this was a reprinted edition?), but at least early on, they had the integrity to actually perform a procedure and photograph themselves dong it, rather than license photos from other manuals and leave out details. They had real world advice based on their actually doing the work. Great help, especially if they are making do without the special tools.

From one account:

Quote:
Mr Haynes quickly realised the official factory manual was not designed to help the average car owner.

He bought a camera and captured the process of dismantling and rebuilding the engine.

The use of step-by-step photo sequences linked to exploded diagrams became the trusted hallmark of Haynes Manuals.

It also helped me understand differences on non-USA models, since the books were aimed primarily at the British market, at least originally.

Gordon Banks world cup class goalie.

and how did we miss out Rosemarie Bowe? a woman described as having the face of Grace Kelly and the body of Marilyn Monroe Shocked that got your imagination going! But, she recalled, “of all the auditions and interviews I have had with casting men, directors, and producers, not one ever made a pass at me. I guess they were afraid of me.” #myhusbandsrobertstack

His Winston Churchill in "The Gathering Storm" was perfect.
