Got some work done on the baja so it will be ready for its second trip, put some new tires on, will be fixing the beam this weekend. For the HBB campout be sure to bring some firewood and insect repellant.

Auslander - what is the scoop on the 24th? Where is the camp going to be? When is the small memorial thing going to take place? Any other details? I plan on coming out, but it may be without the car. Too much to do in only two weekends. Get some details from Owen and we can firm a few things up.

When do you plan on arriving out there? Friday night or Saturday morning?

If you get off on Afton Road there will be a sign the leads you to the campground. We will be camping there. Owen and a few others will be there on Thursday, in the big cul d sac area and will try to get as many spots as possible, I will be there on Friday. Friday the only plans are to do a prerun and hang out. Saturday will be the HBB memorial cruise to his favorite spots, that evening will be potluck, and a campfire that evening.

Looking at the pictures of Brad's and Sal's baja's has got my blood flowing. I have been working on my baja as much as time and health permits. My baja is still only 40% complete. I can see light at the and of the tunnel and it isn't a train. I am working on the rear (boxed-in) trailing arms that Brad gave me. The alterations to them will be to add shock mounts to the arms. It wont be too long till I can get the body on the pan. Bad part is, it won't be ready for the HBB campout. That was my goal, and I failed miserably Sad

Maybe I will bring out my dual sport motorcycle and give some tree huggers something to complain about Wink I will know more as the weekend gets closer.

That would be cool, thought about heading out near Ballarat and hitting up the Ghost towns.

Sorry to have to report this about Auslander.
This is a cut an paste from BoxOnWheels

Quote:
Craka Laka where are you???????????

Just got a call this morning from Sals wife. Here is what I have so far. Half asleep when she called but pretty sure I go the jist of it. Sal was dropping off his bus at the shop and borrowed his buddies bicycle to go from the VW shop to go pick up his truck. Fours hours later Jaime gets a call from the hospital that he is a Harbor UCLA (trauma center). Somebody found him unconscious in the street. Sounds like maybe a hit and run. I asked if he still had his wallet and money and he did so doesn't sound like some tweaker in the LBC took him out. This happened sometime yesterday afternoon. She said he has a broken clavicle, maybe a broken jaw, and stitches best described as "like his ear almost got ripped off?" Ok, well now I want pics or it didnt happen Sgt Sal Smile They did a CT and the good thing is no brian bleed but she said he was pretty out of it yesterday. She said yesterday was hectic and had to wait 14+ hours for a bed so just called this morning. Somebody was going to go check out the bike and see if the cops were notified and if they know it was a hit or run. Sounds like he is down but not out. Hopefully, more updates as we get them.
