Once I have the engine out, how difficult is it to swap the shroud? |

cumbersome with the generator hanging of it. 1 screw by the intake manifolds =2, Vbelt and gen strap.
if you have: hoover bit thermostat and flaps, you'll need to take the thermostat off take the one clip off the flap cross bar so it wont snag the hoover bit or oil cooler and the one bolt on the hoover bit holding it to the doghouse.
when you do get a new used doghouse make sure the fan sits right and you have the hoover bit foam around the cooler so it seals well in the doghouse.
edit: you have to detach the wire to the carb and pull out that little tube or it will hang on something and bend. _________________ 70 Westy, 2027cc "dual DRLA 40 m140 i55 wjdoc a165 p33 v30 "w100 straight cut 040 polished heads 1.25 rockers 1.5 A1sidewinder supertrapp muffler trans 091 coil SUM-850500 CDI universal svda Pertronix

It's not the straight cut gears It's the T.A.R.D.I.S. engine.

Just talked with a guy at CCC and ordered my tin. Also asked him about the shroud - he didn't sound too concerned and said that as long as it has an oil cooler in the back I should be fine. |

Maybe in a bug, but a bus is on the ragged edge of enough cooling most of the time, those heapo shrouds lack the internal vanes to smooth and direct the airflow to where it does the most good and most is wasted.
The new surround tin will be a big help but do find another shroud as soon as you can. _________________ Rust NEVER sleeps and stock never goes out of style.
