Just finished rebuilding the 25hp for the 53. Put it on the stand to test run it. Started fine seems to run strong, no smoke no noises. At idle it is rough so I started pulling plug wire, #2 is not as strong as the others. Did a compression test and got 95 in all 4, checked the valves, timing right on, the advance seems fine, swaped the plugs and the problem stays on #2. Any help?

This was a new cap and wire set. I am going to replace the dist in the morning. Can I put in a 009 dist that I have just to check it out? Will it fit? Thanks

Yes, and make sure you don't have a vacuum leak. Loose intake?
