Here is my beloved 1987 syncro doka. Currently undergoing a swap from the original 1.6 td to an AAZ with tuned pump and intercooler. Has anyone used an intercooler other than the Saab 900 in these trucks? I am trying to make use of the space in the engine bay while still getting.adequate air flow.

Does anybody have a link for the throttle cable for a 1990 Syncro Doka Diesel? My throttle cable has been sticking while driving......little scary Shocked

Does the 1983 cable work the same? also this is left hand drive.

Not the same. Could be somewhere in the US which they could be bought, but I know you can get them from Brickwerks in the UK.

Can somebody look at the heater under their rear bench and tell me which hoses go where? Not sure if it matters, but I had to disconnect both of mine over the summer to replace the little plastic screw valve and I forgot to mark down which one goes where. Thanks.

I realize that this is not a Syncro, but it's a Doka, and I've never seen this feature before...Great for kids and less-tall folks:

I just picked up my Syncro Doka 16 from the Port of Baltimore today. I've got some work to do to this former Swedish fire truck. My first question is about documentation. Is there any VW documentation available? Any specs -particularly for the 16" model? I'm not certain what would be the right type of wheel and tire setup for this vehicle -the tires that came on the truck are studded 16" tires -not good for the weather we are about to get here in Virginia.

Any thoughts for a new owner of his first Transporter?

This is my new Doka. I picked it up off of a person who was paring down on possessions. She runs and drives, but it needs some TLC. It’s a 1986 Syncro

Just love this thread!

I am in the market for a syncro doka and am learning about differences between the 14s and 16s.

I am also trying to learn differences in the syncro systems between years. An older source I was directed to is no longer online. Can someone point me to a good description of if and how the syncro-specific parts changed between 86 and 91? Any years to avoid? Thanks much.

None! They'll all cost you a fortune Very Happy

I'm not up on the subtle differences between years but there are quite a few subtle differences between European and NA models - wiring and such to be aware of. Sourcing parts/info for a Euro model can be challenging if your in the US. Fortunately Samba members has helped me immeasurably to this end.

Hello all. Need to take the drivers seat off to clean up the rails and lube.

Question is: Where exactly under the seat is the plate with the M codes? Just moving the seat back and fort and looking around the storage under the seat I do not see anything. The sticker near the fuse box is absent. It's a German Syncro Doka if it matters.

Mine is on the inside(closest to the walkway between seats) on the frame below the seat track.

I need another better photo but even with this and I input what I have I need nothing back. Somewhere else here I saw a list of M codes.

First of all...take a moment or two or three and practice with the quote feature of the forum because you are putting my name to words I never said.
U do not mind being quoted, but I want to be quoted on things I did say.

There is the link to the website I posted earlier to the M-Code decoder that you can use.
There is also this thread which will show you the M-Codes.
