Here is my 1989 Tristar Syncro Doka. I got it about 3 months ago from Sweden via Germany !!!. Its in excellent shape- almost no rust and interior is super clean. All i have done for now is add the Mefro 15" rims and BFGA/T's- the centre caps are on order !!..thxs Van cafe

Here’s a picture of my worn down Tri Star. I bought the car in this state, and have driven it for 6 problem free months. It will now get a 112i engine and front diff in good condition.
Rust repair is this winters project. The car is very rusty in the rear wheel wells and around the treasure chest.
I hope to have my new 1000 liter acid bath ready sometime in October. Then I will treat doors etc in the bath, before a coat of epoxy.

Is that the one that was for sale on vwbus last winter? I actually considered buying that one but got scared of the rust and decided not to. I like the patina!

Well guys since I have started this thread I have sold my syncro Doka and miss it bunch  I will be getting another one in a few. I have since put all of my time and money in my syncro camper. Now I can start looking for the next syncro Doka. I do drool over TriStar's

Correct. It was me trying to sell it. But there were no interest for the car, so I decided to keep it and put it back in decent shape. |

I posted something a while ago about my excitement on finding a syncro doka, but got no responses...I don't want to kick a dead horse, but I am pumped about finding this, I love it so far. I'll post it here...in the 'official' thread too if you don't mind!

Great find!
I found my doka in Campbell River and my syncro GL sunroof on Quadra Island. Nice to see another syncro in that area. I guess there must have been a dealer bringing them in at one time.
