I like the color choice, but it looks like you got a little overspray on the window rubber.

Also, don't forget your air cleaner.

awreed. I painted the window seals on purpose. They are rough and it actually is an improvement. eventually I plan to replace them. There is some overspray on the glass in that photo, but it has been removed since that photo was taken Also I have a small scoop with an air cleaner but it doesn't fit with the fan shroud so I am getting a carb spacer for it. I'll post pics of that when it's finished

That engine makes my purist heart go all pitter patter! It looks like an NOS engine you just uncrated. Nice work.

Fair enough. I'm a big proponent of removing all glass before any paint- you never know what's lurking underneath that seal. I hope your paint doesn't crack when you cut that glass out, though.

X2

It looks like an engine on a less than 100 mile super beetle from the late 70's that were at Barrett Jackson this year.

Finally bothered to cut a hole in my rear tin (aftermarket) to fit an OEM preheat tube, a 2 1/8" hole saw (like you use for drilling doors for installing door knob mechanisms) works perfect. had to slip a piece of tubing from an old heaterbox hose fitting (where the stock hoses pass through the tin) to extend it up, but it all bolted up perfectly.
