still having brake trouble....help!!!

Here's the deal. New master cylinder,new wheel cylinders,new brake hoses in front,have checked rear hoses and no obstructions...can get fluid to the back with line disconnected from wheel cylinder but not a good hard blast(more of a weak flow). I can't even get the cylinder closest to the master to apply the brake (left front).I'm beginning to wonder if maybe I have the plunger adjusted too far or not far enough.What is confusing is that the right front is working great but that is the only one that is working. Any suggestions or pictures of where the plunger may need to be set.I'm new at the V.W."s but have bled many brakes in my day without this much trouble.What could I be doing wrong?

You need new rear brake hoses. When they get old they constrict down and only allow a feeble trickle trough.

I can get them tomorrow......but is there any safe setting on the plunger that is somewhere in the middle of where I should be? Thanks for the reply.....

Also......why would I be getting fluid and brake to the right front and not the left front?

Have you adjusted your brake shoes?

When I bleed brakes I tighten the shoes all the way up against the drums so they can't spin. Then bleed the brakes After you get no more bubbles go back and loosen the shoes (equally) so there is only a slight drag.

The pedal should have about 1/2" (I think) of free play before the rod makes contact with the master cylinder plunger.

And the brake rod is supposed to be 5.4 inches long. Adjust the free play with the pedal stop.
