So, I know my bug looks bad-ass the way it's dumped to the floor, but I'm gonna raise the back a tad.
I love lowriders, but I also love daily drivers. With that camber, it's just asking for trouble:

Good idea. When you get done that you might consider raising the front and taking all the junk off it. You will be amazed how much better it drives and rides and how much faster it goes.

Your rear tires will last 3 times as long too.

By the way it doesn't look bad ass. It looks like an old VW with broken springs.

If you want to be bad ass take your granny's old Chev Impala 4 door, raise it up a couple of feet and bolt on a set of shiny wheels with rubber band tires. Everyone will go

"Geez what a moron"

"Ya but the car is bad ass"

"Compared to when his granny had it"

If you raise the rear, you better make sure you have caster shims up front!

I'll take the fog lights off your hands for ya Wink

I'm going to go against the grain a bit and say the car looks great the way it is. That being said, I understand the reason for wanting to raise it if its your daily. The ride can be a little rough at that height. Hey, its your car yada yada.

Hey, thanks for your opinion. Now that some tool from canada who just joined The Samba last week has told me what looks right for my car, my life is complete.

Applause Laughing

Now that's funny right there.

I think the accessories look great. Not too over done. Raising up the rear to give it a rake would be sweet! But please take Dr. Scopes advice. Be safe. Portland roads are terrible.

He did ask for my opinion actually. What do you think this thread is about?

I was AGREEING with him in my own devil may car way.

I've been driving and wrenching on VWs since 1968 but I'm always ready to learn something new.

I didn't see a question mark in his post. Be nice......it's not necessary to be a prick.

I too raised the rear of my car recently. After putting my stroker engine in, I didn't want to smack the sump and exhaust on the ground anymore. Low looks bitchen for sure, but you mash more parts into the concrete and that is certain.

Exactly..... Also, with a larger motor, it may be safe to say you'll be gettin' on it too. The squat is tough on axle spade when under power.

Traver, I haven't seen your car around. What part of portland are you in? The car looks great. I agree with raising it up some.
