Well it finally happened ! After 2+ years of working on this deal, I got to pull the trigger, picking up a '61 Singlecab and a ton of parts : Nos H case-in the box, westy Rack, Barndoor Steering wheel, Barn door Dash Pod, 3- 36 Hp engines, 4 H or D case engines, 3 Trannys, 2.5 sets of Singlecab gates, 7 sets of front Bench seats (at least 3 '61 Hump seats)
1 set of 5 -16' wheels, bunches of 14'+ 15' rims, lots of interior door panels, many w/pockets, Many sets of Bumpers, gas tank block off panels, and there is a Bunch of "smalls" that I still need to pickup, also a bunch Lit. And a Bunch of stuff I can't remember.
There was also a '56 Singlecab that I got running for the people in charge of the "Foundation" THEY ARE KEEPING THE '56 !! it's going to be part of a Museum for the guy that owned all the VW stuff, plus Clock/watch/Gun/Machine collections, a Stanley Steamer & 2 "Loco-Mobiles" some way cool stuff indeed.
My son Kelsey helped all weekend, we also picked up a Bev-air 2 tower Keg Cooler for his Brewing hobby
I'm beat ! $110 in Gas, 3 trips -240 miles, 90 degree heat, gotta love this stuff......... _________________ Tom

The Story is , this old guy had all this stuff, I used to see him driving the Dove Blue '56 around in the late '90's, then nothing, in '06 or so I started hunting him down, found out he was dying in a hospital, so I waited, and waited............................................................................................
.....................................................................................................
.....................................................................................................
...............In '07 I found his place, got in touch w/ the people who were handling the Estate/Foundation, bugged them until they said,"ok your the VW guy, we'll call you" ......................................................................................................
.........................................................................................
I called every 3-4 months, checking in ect., FINALLY they called 3 -4 weeks ago !!
This is what I found the 1st time:
They packed in a little barn. _________________ Tom

Nice score! Finds like these and your pictures, make me want to move back to NH
Every time I visit my parents up there I go VW parts and bus hunting.
Good luck on your future barn stash finds! _________________ 64 Kombi

Nothing to see here in the Northeast. Move along.
How many of you would have waited this long for a stash like that? Hands up...
Yeah, me too.
Nice work Tom, and good to see you had a hand dragging all that "crap" home. _________________ Wanted : January '57 Palm Green Sand Green Bus Parts - Middle and Rear Seat Frames - flat back. I have original seat covers but would consider covered frames.

Nice score. Take your time and inventory everything and then do some research to find what the value is before you start selling it off or you will kick yourself in the head. Its great that you located the stuff and will put it "back into circulation." Otherwise, the stuff could have ended up in a dumpster and or as scrap metal.

More Pics:
Cool waterfall behind the building where some of the parts were.
My friends GMC 3500 Dumper work great.
Cool exhaust on a 36 hp on the "Buggy" frame
I think this was my best find:
To all who Pm'd me, I'll get back to you, how about saying
HOW MUCH you'd be willing to pay for that part...... _________________ Tom

Nice job. I spy a pair of PG/SG bumpers on the back of one of the trucks. If I hadn't already found some, my PM monster would be knockin'.
Gotta love a good find! _________________ nothing |
