Ok so I have had this 2110 engine for a couple of years and not really used it much through either selling the cars or had issues with the engine .
first problem was some engine sealer got into the front bearing journal and spun that up .
so rebuild was done lesson learnt
then I changed it to Porsche upright fan and the fan exploded putting holes into the car lucky escape
Rebuilt fan etc. again
Now I have just had it running and was running lovely messing around with carbs and got it real nice . switched of for the night ,went back next day and it wouldn't start ,tried everything fuel spark etc., but what I did notice is that the engine was turning over faster , anyway the end of the tail is that the straight cut cam gear has broke it looks like a 1/4 of it has broke out, as I haven't split the motor yet it doesn't look like there has been to much damage so far. hopefully another lucky escape!!
I am wondering if I should change any specs to the motor as I would like to put into my 1303 convertible, any recommendation would be appreciated
spec is
90.5 b/p's mahle
82mm crank CB
044 heads 42 35.5mm valve heads with 62cc chambers ( I think this is quite large)
2.25mm deck height
comp works out at 7.9 is this too low
Pauter 1:4 rockers
Engle FK8 cam
weber 44 idfs
Do I alter the comp ratio or would this be ok bearing in mind I am in the UK ..
I just want an nicely trouble free running motor |
