My new coil did not come with the electrical connectors, and I don't have any spares. Nor do I happen to have another coil.  Does anyone know where I could get these? Aside from buying a used coil from someone, that is!  |

You can use "piggyback" connectors on the single tabs.

I purchased a Pertronix Flamethrower II coil, and as mentioned it did not come with the required connectors. Manufacturer must of assumed I was replacing an already existing coil, thus I could easily transfer the connectors over! Unfortunately, I don't have another coil kicking around.
Even in the manufacturer's photo, the connectors are not clearly not included. Does anyone have an old, used coil, they want to get rid of cheap?  |

Why don't you just fly out to where he's at and GIVE him some? Oh, that's right - probably because you don't have a plane ticket just like he doesn't have ring terminals. Use your head. Don't you think if he had these he would use them? |

I was enjoying my "beverage" until it came squirting out of my nose, due to sudden and uncontrolable laughter! THAT was funny.
But seriously guys, this is a full restoration project that I'm undertaking. Its near completion, and the wire harness is new and beautiful, along with everything else on that car. To go and cut the connectors, only to have them replaced with ring terminals is a little "butcher" if you ask me, not to mention an impatient move. It would loose quite messy once installed on the coil. I would rather wait, and do it right. But thank you for the input, I do apreciate the suggestion. |

| I think ring terminals would look MUCH cleaner than those giant things. Ring terminals you can tuck together, those things throw the wires in all directions. Do whatever, but I'd be looking at what they're obviously implying you should be using. |

You should be able to find em at an auto parts store, you have the right coil. I had to do the same to mine, but I had several coils laying around and raided them off the spares.

There is a big difference between a REBUILD and a RESTORATION. Some use the term RESTORE to mean REBUILD.
Restore is to put the car back as it was when it left the dealers showroom in 1967.
Rebuild is to make it road worthy using parts from any and all sources that work, not period correct but functionally usable.
I suspect this is a REBUILD.

Perhaps I should use ring terminals! After all, ring terminals would make it "road worthy using parts from any and all sources that work", so I think I'll cut the wiring harness, and throw them on. After all, whats a REBUILD, without some non correct, but functionally usable parts?

Try your local wrecking yard. Take your coil and explain what you need. More than likely they will have a pile of old coils somewhere or at least one with those fittings in one of the automobiles in the yard.

Actually, thanks to a member of this forum, I will be receiving my much needed terminals in the mail. He was very generous, and mailed them to me early this morning. Just goes to show that there are some good people left in this world!
So once I receive them, I can continue with my rebuild! |
