First, I’d like to thank everyone for your help through the years. It’s been very much appreciated.
I’m building a 2007cc (78.4 x 90.5) combo with the following;
78.4mm CB crank
110 Engle cam
12.5 lb. flywheel
044 heads (40 x 35.5)
Aiming for 8.5:1 CR
40 IDFs
This lump will be used in a Baja with 28 inch tires and 4.12 gearing. I want this engine to be spirited, but able to run to the grocery store comfortably as a daily driver.
With this combination, I’m unsure of the torque that I can expect. I’m down to ordering a pressure plate before the whole assembly goes to the balancer. I’m torn between a stock plate and a Kennedy stage 1, 1700 pounder. I've read that the stock pressure plate is acceptable to the 130 ft/lb range.
I guess I have two questions. First, what would you estimate the torque/ hp for this combo to be? Second, what pressure plate would you use?
Thank you. _________________ Eric

My 2007 is almost exactly the same as yours, but I run a FK7 cam and 40DRLA's. I put down 91hp at the wheels and 115ft/lbs.........w/a tall 205/70 tire. You'll love that motor.....it moves out pretty good when you stuff it, and idles like a Toyota. _________________ '67 Sunroof

Actually, with a 78.4mm crank instead of a 78mm crank, you end up with 2017 cc.
No HP estimates or clutch recommendations, but it sounds like a nice build. Have fun!
