I'm familiar with all steel Avis style adjusters and have only used them in the past. Now I came across a set that were steel but the clamping part was aluminum. I don't really like that idea. Anybody know where I can get some all steel Avis style adjusters?

Thanks, NAES

The ones with the aluminum clamping part are for beetles I think?

I prefer the aluminum ones. They have better grip.

Anybody had issues with the aluminum ones failing or doing anything weird? If Jeremy says they work well, then I might just go with them.

I have used a couple of the all steel type and one beam the guy ended up having to tack weld the plate to keep it from slipping. The problem is the grooves are rolled into the steel and don't mesh very well. The aluminum on s I have used have sharp teeth and fit right into the grooves. I have aluminum ones on my deluxe now for 5 or six years of lots of driving and they have never slipped . I also never mess with them. Once I found the right height I left them alone.

The CSP ones are nice and don't apply to my experience.

Perhaps try tightening the nut on the adjuster screw more. Those looks like the adjusters that are in my beam (jeremy built my beam probably 5ish years ago) and when I first set the bus on the ground after putting the beam in, the adjusters slipped because I didn't have the nuts tightened enough. Tightened them up about as much as I could, messed with them maybe once since, and haven't had a single problem since then. No slipping what so ever.
