Looking for a vendor that sells the "seat hooks" for a 70..got a busted one and I can't find anyone that sells em.
Its the "hook" on the side of the seat that prevents the seat from going forward and when you lift the seat release lets you tip the seat forward.

My '71 had a busted one when I bought it. I had one made by a local welder. If you know a good welder take the seat back off along with the good one. They should be able to weld/make one for you easily. I think he charged me $20 to do it - kind of a minimum rate.

Otherwise I think you will need to look for a used seat or seat back that has a good one and replace.

Good idea, I'll have a friend make one. I thought there had to be tons of junk seats with good parts still on them laying around...I have lots of 914 junk like this stashed.
It was a common part to break when they were new as all it took was a big guy forcing the seat forward without using the release and "Pop" there went the hook...
