I have a 78 camper...and I'm missing the swing-out table that goes above ice box....they are too expensive for me to buy..so I'm going to make my own.....would someone please let me know length, width, thickness, and how high it sits off the ground....it doesn't have to be perfect...I just need a rough idea

I can't seem to find where to purchase a swing out table for a 79 camper? Doesn't seem to be one on the Busdepot.com. Does anyone know of other more underground places I might be able to find one... I'm not as handy as those who want dimensions to build one. Smile

They go fast. I put one up for sale last week, and had 17 emails within 24 hours.

Chris-

If you're making your own, you can use the existing brackets to measure the maximun OD and then you can use whatever material you'd like with regards to the inner wall thickness as long as it accomodates the under table mount. Hope that helps.

Ahh, true, good point. I don't have the brackets but will probably get them instead of making my own since they seem to be more plentiful and cheaper than the legs/table.

Chris, I'll have to check, but I think I have one or two legs hidden somewhere at the shop if you need one.

Got the rest of the table and the brackets too? I'm interested in whatever you have, no rush though.

You asked for it. The whole shebang; table, leg, brackets. A bit pricey, but they are hard to come by...

I'm sure someone, somewhere has an idea to make these... Quick question before I get into trying to repro these, why do you think it's not been done before?? Table and leg that is. Too much work, too little gain?

Yes; too much work, too little gain. That's my guess. And the hardware on the bottom of the table; you'd pretty much have to re-invent it with what's available nowadays. And then there's shipping... especially the folding tops; big and bulky= $ to ship.

The table legs however... those are hard to come by too, and what are they? just a piece of bent tubular steel of the right diameter. I'm actually just about to weld one up today with steel stock from the local steel supply house. I don't have a bender that big, so I'm just going to use a steel elbow for the bend.

What happened to all those tables and legs that originally came with our buses?

My guess is that the owners take them out and stow them in the garage or elsewhere. When the vehicle is sold, the tables, legs etc remain in their storage location. They are then discovered at some later point and simply thrown away. Crying or Very sad
