Ok, I pulled over in Winthrop, WA this morning to let Moses piss before we headed up highway 20 towards Washington Pass, I and find this!
Even has 'jail' bars on the outside of the windows, and a security door between cab/camper...
This dude is a serious road warrior...I do states...he does continents!
Said he just came down the AlCan...nice!
Bessie easily could have fit in the back, save the cabinets, beds, shower.....you name it, it had it.
So how big is your Westy?

Wow....sorry Samba, just sharing some road pics...
Here's another!
Having lunch with some Canadian strangers on Hwy 20...I was on the way down, they got too hot going up. I stopped to see if they were ok...This is what bus ownership should be about! Having fun, meeting strangers, seeing the world...
Bessie meets "Harry"
Cheers!
and thanx Keith (Knet) for the help getting that seal fixed in Missoula! 600 miles and less than 1/4 quart of oil missing! |

Ninja camping in North Cascades National Park!
Road shots.....thru the window...no stopping on this grade! I'd compare it to "Going to the Sun"...
...but 3rd gear doing 45-50 all the way up!
with this piston!
Yes, I remember all the naysayers, back in July when I put that head on....over that piston. "Your rod is bent", and "your rod bearings are toast", etc...
Well, it's been over 4000 miles since I left Colorado in August...I like to drive Bessie! and fix her when needed!
peace

that's a huge inspiration. My wife and I plan on doing a road trip after she finishes her grad studies next year. Hopefully we can rack up a good amount of miles with only minor incidents |

Moses looks like a wonderful and happy traveling companion. So did you use the "red eye" filter on that pic?
Yea, don't stop on a dam and particularly in a bus. Especially after 9-11. I couldn't believe the last trips over Boulder or Hoover or whatever Dam it is. And then checking out all the stuff in the aerial satelite views of it you can almost imagine missle silos, rocket launchers and everything else just ready to remove a bus that stops in the middle. _________________ 71 Superbug

Yeah, maybe after 9/11, where everybody got so sensitive. Thanks a lot, Bin Laden!
Seriously though, enjoy your trip that is some beautiful country, with lots! of stealth camping opportunities. _________________ > 78Grµn Westfalia `Donkey`

No I just snapped it last night @ 60mph...came out just like I "see him"...

There were signs everywhere...but the photo-op was TOO GOOD to pass up!
Wanna talk homeland security? Grand Coulee Dam! I parked once, and took this pic....
I saw no less than 4 Homeland Security Ford Explorers drive by...I just left that place! They don't care if the Indian Reservation gets flooded and kills a few thousand "red skins"...but no way can California go dark! |

This is one of the coolest photos I have ever seen. Totally worth the aforementioned threat of missile silos and rocket launchers if you ask me.
And Moses does look like a terrific traveling companion. He looks very well-mannered. Right on! _________________ Percy: '77 sage Westy, 2.0L FI (GD), 091 trans

Nice pics.
Oh, and my bus has been searched the last 2 times I crossed Hoover Dam...and I mean SEARCHED! Open every cabinets, every container, look under the seats kind of searched. It sucks!
I can't wait until they open the bypass bridge. _________________ Eric
