i found this in a '69 bus i picked up today, but i can't figure out if it's vw-related or not. it appears to be a mountable vanity that could/should go in a car, but i see no markings and i've never seen one before.

it was not mounted in the bus, but sitting in the floor. i've always been a beetle guy so i'm a bus novice.

what the heck is it?

I can see it fine, I would think if it was vw-related it would have a part # on it.

I believe that is the extremely rare "Coke Kit" accessory that was produced solely for the Colombian and Peruvian markets. The total lack of manufacturer markings make them untraceable by the authorities. Very Happy

i wondered if it was some kind of mobile cocaine device, haha

perhaps it's some kind of universal aftermarket piece? it's funky and a totally new idea to me. i'll go look for any spot where it might have been mounted.

not to engender jealousy across america, but it came out of this custom-painted beauty:

alltheprettybuses.com tells me it's a 9-seater. that thing better hold a lot of cocaine for that many people.
