So I have finally found a friend for Bessie.....she was born in '74, so their ages compliment each other...
Took Moses for a test sail today...of course he loves the water...
Now that hull is gonna need some Orange paint so I don't look like a Bronco's fan... |

Nice, I need to go tend to my sailboat too after seeing yours. . I just can't imagine how you launch it with a bus (rear engine) since I am pretty sure it needs to be in pretty deep water for the keel to clear. _________________ 1995 Eurovan Camper (SOLD)

The boat is a Guppy.....one of only 300 made. I didn't buy it, but got to use/rent it for a few hours. It only displaces 480lbs, and 150lb of that is the shoal draft keel...It has a removable rudder, and notice the placement of the trailer wheels...this boat could probably be hand launched....she was floating long before I sunk my engine. |

So are you buying it or what? Looks like a fun little sailboat! Where did you take it out? Just curious, as I have a 25' Catalina up here and have not used her in years. Gonna have to spend some time giving her some TLC this Spring, and take her out in some local lakes. She used to be my sail to Catalina from Ventura Harbor boat, but I brought her up here, thinking I would get out more in the lakes. So much for that idea. _________________ "Two things are infinite: The universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the universe." Albert Einstein

Ahhhhhh.....the memories of youthful ventures to Avalon!
This boat was priced right @ $3000, and sleeps two! (tightly) |

That is a very cool sailboat. I would love to see someone show up at my launch with a bay and a boat! What a hoot! |

I did some googling on it...talk about an "owner's club"....only 300 hull numbers...
http://www.shortypen.com/boats/pocket/guppy/
I didn't check the hull number...just saw it, asked, paid cash, and enjoyed! |

That boat is much lighter than my Harley ('96 Heritage Softail about 780lb + 200lb trailer)
It's freaking sea level here, and FLAT......It seems like I have an extra 5~10 ponies (horse power) compared to Cripple Creek, CO elevation 9500ft. |
