Tonite I realized that the splines on the steering shaft in my '59 ragtop are bigger than those on my Empi Gt wheel. What can be done to remedy this. Change out the steering shaft. Would this mean I'd have to change out column also. Any input is appreciated! _________________ 1970 Lotus White Panel

I ran into this problem with a stock steering wheel and the early shaft. I wasn't awre that the splines still matched up. They line up there are just fewer adjustment splines. I think this should also apply to the Empi wheel. I would try it gently and make sure it is centered, but don't force it. |

Gt's where for 61 on I beleive any way Im not 100% But your colum is longer what you need to do is find a 62 and later colum and shaft and turn signal switch. Whats nice about the later switch is it helps blend in to the back of the gt's hub!! wthout it it just looks stuped and outta place!! Now the thing Im not 100% on is if theirs a problem with the later shaft and you steering box. But really I think it will work!! But really at least run the later switch it looks bad without it!!! |

I'm starting to get little wafts of bus stink coming from the north. Something about the unique scent of drivers seat padding when it's glued together with mouse piss and shit that really gets me going... and I'm smelling it! Oh yeah! Time to start loading up the equipment. |

Let me know. I'll be looking around here. I know a '60's baja'd vert showed up at a local yard but will have to see what year it is. _________________ 1970 Lotus White Panel
