What are the dimensions on these round holes?
Was these holes made by the owner or was this Porsche delivered with it when new?

I've seen a similar set of rims on a Norwegian beetle from 1950.
Take a look at the image under. Its redirected from this fantastic site:http://www.terovirta.com/

Interesting.

Thanks for sharing the great photos.

These wheels were on Porsche chassis #10821. Cheers! Cool

It is a Convertible D. There are only 2 Beeskows in Sweden, and none of them are red...

For what years was this requirement valid? Would it also apply to a race in 1955 that all cars needed this class-color coding?

In the early 1950s the regulation was strictly established, but in the mid 50s more and more teams did not comply with this regulation. The colors still kept their meaning.

Based on my limited German, I ready that the colorcoding should be a "stripe"....."12 cm wide"....and "over the engine lid".... were you free to choose how/where this stripe should be, or was it regulated to be across the car behind the front wheels?

Sorry for all the questions...but I want to do this to a car I am building, and would like it to "comply".

What a fantastic thread this has become....good luck in Stuttgart!

On the pics you see still the old tires. Unfortunately you cant get similar tires anymore, so we have to use new ones for driving later. but we will keep the old ones

Greetings. Peter

PROTOTYP, thank you so much for taking the time to share all of this with us. I know I, and many others, really appreciate it.

Absolutely fantastic car and wonderful restoration.

Do you have any more photos of the body skin restoration? or any photos of the engine bay with the decklid off?

It's a cool and intersting car - but Not a Veritas. Veritas was foundet by a Group of BMW Racing engeneers after the war, as I remeber in 1947. The Design of the Veritas Cars was much more smooth. The car Looks Close to the 1940 BMW MM Roadster, but I think that it is just a private organized Racer based on a used chassis because it doesn't have the typical BMW horngrill which us Germany named kidney Bean Grill. Maybe the Prototype guys can give us more informations because they have one of the largest Archive for vintage Sport Cars.

This car is not a Veritas nor a Rometsch and I guess not prewar. This looks like a homebuilt postwar BMW 328 powered racer. all those cars, and there were many, even some of the Veritas, have prewar registrations because they were built on prewar BMW 328 chassis. But something over 1 million dollars for this sounds quite cheap to me... Smile
