|
|
I recently moved 2,700 miles accross the country with my wife and kids to start anew in Hood River, Oregon. I really enjoy working on my Vanagon, but at this stage in my life, I don't have the time to do all I want to. So, just as in State College, I would like to find a knowlegable mechanic to take care of some things which I don't have the time to tackle.
Does anyone have any experiences to report regarding mechanics in the Hood River area....or the Columbia River Gorge.
Roadhaus has plenty for Portland, but nothing up here.
Any information is greatly appreciated.
Thanks! _________________ 09 Suzuki SX-4 Crossover |

Gorge Automotive will do you a fair to good job. Buz at Hood River Motors is very clean and neat, but typically avoids major work on Vanagons. |

I am just across the river in White Salmon. Gorge Automotive can be OK but it really depends on who happens to be working there at the time.
I have heard some people being OK with DelCarpine Automotive.
I still drive my DoKa into to Alan at A&P Specialties in Portland. I have not found anyone that I consistently trust out here. Let me know if you have good luck with someone.

Good place to look for reviews of shops in your area:
