its a rare 74 ca fi bus
& i want to make it drivable while I go threw the original motor & fi
how hard would it be to swap out
the 1800 with the early auto-fuel injection
for a 2.0 with 77-78 fi
i want to beleave that swapping engine is no problem
unless there is a differance between a engine from a auto & standard
is there ???
are the injectors, cold start & other misc parts interchangable
i know that the afm, decel & brain are not |

It should be close to a straight swap. You need to swap the flywheel for a flex plate and check/reset the crankshaft end play. The exhaust would be the biggest problem, don't really know what you have on there how, but if you stick with the '74 exhaust you should be in good shape.
I would think that the later FI engine would be close enough to pass the visual, but if not just swap all the '74 stuff onto the '78 long block. |

Sorry, can't possibly remember every law you Californians dream up. Maybe by next year you will be needing that visual. |
