Well i decided to try this procedure to level out my rig as I was approximately 1 inch lower in the back

http://www.knology.net/~vw/vanagon/sag/

I got done with one side and the results are good. I am now sitting at 16 inches front and 16 inches rear on the passenger side. Will be doing the driver side tomorrow.

It was really a pretty simple procedure to cut out the spacers. I used a hole saw to cut the center holes and a hand held jig saw for the circumference cuts. Getting the spring out of the vehicle was easy to. I did not even have to remove the front control arm bolt as is done in the procedure link.

I think this is a good fix - if the spacers hold up for the long run. Maybe put in the airlift system as well for those times the van is really loaded down..

Got the driver side spacers in tonight and both rear sides measure 16.25 from the bottom of the wheel well to the top of the hob. The front passenger comes in at 15.25 and the driver side at 15. I can tolerate .25 off.

However, now I have to get wheels aligned again.

I will ost some pics soon. Ride seems better as well. More stable and solid.

If they hold out I think it is a good mod. Very Happy

Joe

And yes, the spacers are quite durable!
