|
|
My camera is recharging right now so I don't have a pic.
I'm hoping someone can tell me what the small switch (almost looks like a door buzzer/light contact switch) near the base of the parking brake handle is for on my 76 Westy. If its a PO add on, I guess I'll have to trace it under the dash tomorrow.
I looked in Bentley and Muir and didn't see it in either.
Thanks! _________________ All the redemption I can offer, girl, is beneath this dirty hood

Turns the brake light on in the dash when the e-brake is on. It's factory. _________________ First Trip in the RustyBus:

If I am not mistaken that switch turns off the yellow
brake warning light. The light on the dash is to remind
you to release the parking brake. _________________ 77 Westy named Tiki - Daily Driver 80 miles a day!

Thanks guys! I knew it was a stupid question but I had to ask. It seems an unusual design for that purpose.

Can someone tell me what color wires you have going to this switch, I have brown (grd) and light green (light doesn't work), I looked at a wiring diagram and it looks like it should be red and blue ? _________________ "When my ship comes in I'll be at the airport"

That light is supposed to be red, they just fade to that clear/yellow color over time. _________________ Formerly known in the forums as "OVALTEEN"

It's white/green on all the diagrams I've seen. _________________ Rust NEVER sleeps and stock never goes out of style.

Maybe I'm looking at it wrong, F9 Parking brake control light switch, track 55 ? or is this not the contact switch ? _________________ "When my ship comes in I'll be at the airport"

Track #58 on this one (as well as the 79 one on the Samba):
