Damn I want this bus. Treat her nice

Don't worry, She's in good hands. -I'm a bit torn about lowering her Vs. *100% stock. I've done both and honestly lowered with a bit larger motor is way easier to drive in today's traffic. Either way the body will be as stock as possible, and dove blue.

Took the beam out. Check out the extended shock tower mod... Rolling Eyes . They look like Ball joint beetle shocks, and because they were too long, they drilled a hole in the panel below the seat (actually 3-4 holes per side, as the accuracy was just not there) and reinforced it with a nice heavy plate that bent the panel inward to top it all off. The steering dampener looks like the accessory one I've seen listed.

One of the many not-so-great things about this bus is the wooden strips installed everywhere inside to screw the fiberboard panels onto. They held in moisture in places that wouldn't normally rust as badly.

This is a combination of wood and a metal bracket to attach the panel and to hold the modified rear seat.

outside. It's a bit hard to see, but it's rusted right through, where I stripped the paint back, as high as the bottom of the vents.

Here's a few photo's from the weekends progress.

First, the markings in the headlights. Any ideas?

Had to cut away more metal, and I put in some adjustable braces in the door openings. This way it allows me to adjust the door gaps at anytime during the metal work stage.

I cant make out the script in the first bucket, I would assume it to be the color, tauben blau.

235 means, kombi/left hand drive/cargo doors right/sunroof

I thought about it last night, and after talking to Gerson this morning, I've decided to separate the body from the chassis.

My previous plan was to mount in it on the rotisserie, and then sandblast the chassis, from the bottom and the top inside. I don't think the body is attached to the chassis enough now to turn it on it's side.

As of right now it seems I'm only a few cuts away from separating the body, and it really doesn't seem like it will be that big of deal. This would allow me to do a killer job of the chassis, and then just weld the body back when the time comes.
