Searched several ways but couldnt find a topic. Derek helped me alot... Hooked me up with a 60 only door handle with key and shipped fast.

just gotta say derek is the real deal,yesterday i was driving a 400 mile trip in my 61 beetle..........i had a front brake shoe come unglued and i was driving with my little guy............i drove up to dereks shop unannounced and he gladly helped me get back on the road in minutes..........................

derek,you rock!!!!!!!!! he even sold me a 356 rear clip and helped me hoist it up on the roof rack!!!!!! serendipity!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Derek did send out my parts only after filing a claim through PayPal. My experience was not what I expected but he did follow through in the end. I do understand sometimes things don't always go as planned but communication is key.

Well, it seems like Derek never shipped the part despite the fact that he stated it here (quote above) - not that day he stated he did and not even within 9 days later;
I received notice from paypal that my escalated claim is resolved and that I got the money back today.

... all this was so unnecessary I'd think.

You said you shipped priority mail 2 weeks in a row now. you quit answering my calls or emails So i have filed a action with paypal and orderd another pin kit from a quality dealer this time. You are the worst seller i have found on Samba. i give your business an F- DONT LIST IF YOU CANT SHIP!!

Gave Derek my front end and $300, expecting him to take a few weeks to clean rebuild and install drop spindles. I even told him that I was not in a huge rush, now it has been about four months... Over three weeks ago I spoke to him, after a week of leaving messages (no return calls ever!). He told me my front end would be done in a day or two... Then another week of him dodging my calls. Finally talked to him, and he said he would bring my beam to me in Eugene... Well it has been another five days, no answer at his place, no returned calls, and I am really upset. Maybe I need to file in small claims court, I hope not, but... Maybe Derek will respond to this post??? Maybe??? Although he is a one man shop, I think he could have the decency to return calls, even if only to give me some really lame excuse! We'll see! More posts as I get updated, but for now, I can say DO NOT give him something to work on. Sad

Well, I finally got Derek to call, may have been the post about my beam... He went out of his way to drive 70 miles to my house to deliver the beam once it was finished, and even spent more than hour helping me put it back in my '56. Now, I can say I was not expecting that!!! Thank you Derek! You more than made up for the late build and slow responses. I understand that things happen, and time can get away, but clear communication is really all that it takes. Smile
Oh, and he really is a nice guy!
