When did VW did this? On all busses or just early ones?
I love the way it looks.

Here is a pic of a Mango Green emblem with remains of what I would assume is Seagull Grey in the middle...

A white emblem with a turkis bar would have been removed from a Wetsy.

If it was turkis with a white bar it could have came from a standard.

Nearly all busses had this with only a few exceptions. Firetrucks were one exception.

You guys are amazing! As many bus emblems I have seen over the past 50+ years I had never noticed the painted bar. I learn something new about busses every day.

Wow, I guess I'll have to look closer...
Maybe they stopped doing it for commercials at some point...? Mine's a '62.

Hmmm, now you've got me wondering. Unfortunately it's in a box packed away in storage from my last move, but next time I'm over there I will have to dig it out and see which one it was. That was years ago, and that's yet another one of those busses that was parted in the early 90s that would be saved today...

Greg,

Any ideas what it would be on my December '55 Camping Box?

It was delivered to Westfalia in primer I'm told, and some scrapping has it looking like light grey bottom and roof and a darker grey (a bit darker than the primer) middle, possibly Pearl Grey?

No rush, but I guess I'll need to know at some point!!

Cheers

Stuart
