Can someone tell me the differences in the two years 51-52? Is it correct for a jan. 52 to have a t handle or l handle on the decklid? Any help will be appreciated!

pretty much the only difference between the two is that the '52's have the smooth, non ribbed bumper over riders. I think the star coil might have given way to the later style coil at some point later in '52 before the zwitter but I am not 100% certain on that.
