Cleanest I've seen so far...

What I did was to drill and tap for a bracket in the spindle so that the fender moves up and down with the wheel.
The fenders were ordered from www.fendersnmore.com
If you want to come over to see the mount send a PM.
You will have to wait a week, I'm going south to outer banks.

Howdy everyone! I'm new to this forum so I thought I'd jump in and post some pics of my rail. It's an old-school Type III swingaxle with a freshly rebuilt 1835. Engle cam, dual "mini webers", new clutch, new axles, new wheels, new tires, CNC pedals and cutting brakes. It's titled, tagged, registered and insured for the street. Currently running 10.5x 31 mud tires on 15x8's out back. Five-rib implements on spun aluminum spindle-mounts up front. Polished Aluminum JT beam up front. Disc brake conversion out back. I've spent a LOT of time on this project the last six months and I'm proud of it. Enjoy.

Looks like a cool project.
One little piece of advice:
Where the rear bumper cage mounts to the motor mount is awfully high. It's been attached to holes that were intended for braces to the frame above. The bumper should be mounted lower so it doesn't get in the way of the bottom of the engine case. Like mounting to the bottom corners of the motor mount.
This is in my Baja Bug

What is the material used for the body? Looks like tonneau cover material.. _________________ 4 seater Appletree buggy, road legal with 002 IRS, 3x3 Appletree kit, 6" over Dan's beam with 10" towers and Fox 2.0 shocks, '00 Subaru EJ25 with KEP stage 3 clutch and KEP adapter plate.
