I rescued a kitten tonight and put him in my van. After running around scared for a while it found its way into my dashbard. And is now hidden beyond sight. Maybe stuck.
Can someone help with instructions on removing the dashboard.
Or at least some photos/diagrams of the dash so I know where he could be hidding . I'm not even aware of all the cavities in the front of a van.
Help asap please.
Ty

Both the glove box and steering column are easily removed, have you tried them, and did that give you enough room to see the kitten?
I've actually never taken mine apart further than those two items and the gauge cover.
On a side note, I once rescued a bunny that was stuck inside a soda machine because I was the only one small enough to reach in. I was eight. Got any kids handy?
Good luck. _________________ Eric

It might do well to put a can of tuna nearby, and let the cat come out if it will. |

You can easily remove the glove box. Open it and bend both hooks in and it'll swing down, push it to the left and it's out.
There aren't that many spots to hide back there, If he's on the passenger side, he's behind the glove box.
If he's on the driver's side, he could be in the column, or under the cluster.
There is room up near the wipers though... _________________ Vanagon/Transporter flares here: www.terrawagen.com

Cats also clmb trees and 'need' to be rescued?...
Like cats in trees, I bet the kitty will come out on its own. Make sure to keep tuna and water available, and dont leave a window open or the little thing may escape and become a real mystery.
I've never seen a cat skeleton up in a tree. |

Dunk the whole van underwater for about 5 minutes, that should take care of it. _________________ I once had a '71 Super for about a week.

I would be concerned about unplugged wiring once the kitten gets rescued.

Turn the front heater on full blast and roast him outta there. If he is "roasted" when you pull him outta there then just swing by your local chinese restaurant and drop the kitty off on your way to town. _________________ 89 Bostig powered syncro westy |

The best way to get a bird out of a house/shed/garage is to turn all the lights out, open a window/door to daylight, and start making a ****load of noise.
Not a bad idea, using the fan motor to scare the guy out. You could also get an air hose, and blow up in there. The wind and the noise might scare him too. _________________ '69 Mike

Did you actually take the cluster out? I would think with that out, the ash tray out and the glove box removed you would at least be able to see where the little kitty was hiding. _________________ _________________________________
