Yeah I know.....But I love it.
I found this wreck of a bug a out 2 months ago on the side of the road for $2300 bucks and a whole list of electrical and mechanical bugs. It had no brakes, bairly ran, 45mph top speed, signals did not work, cobbled together baja but the price was right and it was therapy for a deep depression that had set in. I figured for $2300 bucks why not, I can crush it if it goes south.right now it's my woods bug.
I've had custom and drag cars my whole life but nothing that I have ever owned has brought me so much joy or gained so much attention, people wave me down all the time to take photos with the bug. I introduced my 4 year old to the herbie movies, she had to ride in herbie every night or I can't get he to go to bed.
First thing to go was the ugly stickers.

She looks good, thanks for saving her!
Do you mean to say the stickers didn't cover up the mechanical and electrical problems?
I have the same cowl section on mine. _________________ Sent via two tin cans connected by a string and a jailbroken Atari 2600...

When you do, I'll gladly take that one off your hands... _________________ Sent via two tin cans connected by a string and a jailbroken Atari 2600...

That should be a good street car/very light back road cruiser, but I wouldn't try any serious off-road. |

I love this old bug. I've been trying to do one improvement a week since my last post, the car is really coming togeather. Turns out it has a 1300cc ab code Canadian engine so I am assuming that the car is a import from up north. Is there any way to verify if it is a Canadian car?
Btw...pulled the shocks the other week....factory german, I don't think they were ever changed and they were DEAD.
