No sir, not finished. But I have it on a rotisserie and some things have progressed:

I cleaned up and painted the seat frames, had a local upholsterer stretch Matt Miller covers on them:

Found two 1/58 wheels that came with the bus, pg/sg under layers of paint, now sandblasted clean:

And I bought safaris, figuring this would be a good time to fit them:

A few other small things done. I haven't been that motivated. Started collecting/repairing pinball machines, building guitars and I've been playing in a band. I work a lot to pay the bills, not much time for all the projects. I see npbusguy is posting his new project, and while I can't compete with him, I still hope to drive and camp in my bus again someday.

Jim

Awesome, so glad to hear it is still in the works even if its happening slowly. A 58 Westy is an amazing bus and its going to be worth all of the time and effort. Just keep chipping away at it.

Hello,

I apologize for asking what is probably a dumb question, but I am trying to find out paint and interior codes for a friend who has a '58 Euro Westy subhatch, where the chassis plate says that the Type is a VW2/23. I know that there is no M-Code plate as they started in '59. I have the stamp behind the seat which is 323042. And the Engine bay stamp is 349929 which also is the same as the number on the chassis plate. I looked at the Technical section here and could not find the numbers in the Westy category. If anyone knows how to figure out which section to look at under the Technical section here on Samba, could I trouble you to post a link to it please?

Thank you for the help.

Scott
