|
|
I have just purchased a pair of torsion bars (and swing axle pring plates) as an upgrade for my car.
They are 24mm diameter by 626mm length (24 11/16").
Both are stamped on their outer ends with the VW roundel & a letter "H", no other markings that i can see.
Anyone know how to tell which is left/right?
I think that i can tell which is which from the part numbers - IF i could find them anyone know where they should be?
Also,
The spring plates are curious, they look like regular swing axle plates BUT with extra long "covers" for the torsions (like an IRS plate). The axle bolt holes are also circular (not elongated).
I have been told by a friend who works on VW's for a living that they may be early beetle plates & trekker or squareback bars.
What do you guys think? |

the spring plates are early beetle for sure. as far as telling left from right, I don't think VW ever had a way to identify the difference between left and right. I know that most of the aftermarket bars are stamped "L" and "R" _________________ OGST | CU05 | OGJHC
