The most notable is some of the reputable German tuners who used to post here, however, after having nonsense spread about Type 4 and Type 1 engines and cooling systems, they no longer waste their time here... _________________ Neil.

Kudos to the OP for asking the question on a 150hp engine combo, but I'd like to raise the question -
"How's the condition of the rest of the car - suspension & brakes-wise?"
More power is awesome if the rest of the package can contain & control it...

This thread is a good example of why the samba is ridiculed in many circles. A lot of knowledgable industry people I've talked to avoid this forum for this very reason.
A guy asks about a 150hp motor, nothing outrageous or impossible. He didn't ask for life /relationship advice and opinions on the internet from presumptuous know-it-all pricks that fancy themselves as The Samba's Dr Phil. Get over yourselves.
This is called the Performance/Engines/Racing forum afterall... |
Remember, what ever you write here never goes away and is available to be read by anyone at any time. So you should keep your personal problems to yourself and not mention them here. If you are dumb enough to mention them, expect the worst.
Industry people dont come here because they dont want to answer questions and take heat about their substandard products. |
...again, no offense, but the dude simply said that he and his girl split up and he got the bug...then a couple of people twisted it up how they wanted to and it turned into him losing the car for grand theft auto for Christ's sake...give me (him) a freaking break. _________________ 1974 Thing |

sorry if I was wrong Jimmy...but I did think before I wrote...this is what you wrote, and you posted it in THIS thread where the only supposed personal problem was the OP poster's split-up with his girlfriend.
Deductive reasoning would dictate you were referring to him, don't ya think?
...again, I apologize for interpreting incorrectly, but I do "think before I write". _________________ 1974 Thing |

Wow! This is the most crazy, preachy, toe steping on thread in a while!
I'm impressed!
And for my two cents; find someone who has a 150hp bug and go for a ride. See if it's even something you want to spend your money on... And better brakes, you'll want them... Or you could ditch it and buy a type 3 _________________ ...and by the power invested in me as God of my world... |

I could be wrong, but I believe it's a pot shot at research done on the effiiciency of Porsche style fan shrouds. There are plenty of threads about that issue, so there's no need to revisit it here. |

I built myself a 2110 that's a 76x94, with CB Oval Ports, 86B, and 44 IDFs and the days I do drive the bug, my commute is minimum 50 miles. It's an absolute blast to drive. |
