Which CV boot kit would you buy? I'm getting ready to replace mine and I've read through threads, but there has not been a definitive answer to whether the Rockford ones at GermanSupply or the BusDepot ones are best.
Can you share your experience and vote in the poll?
Thanks |

any CV boots are better than the ones you have on there now. Get the ones from Scott. |

I would go for the busdepot ones Febi is a known good brand. I live up here in Alaska and the cold can turn thing's to crap in a hurry here and I have had no problems with Febi stuff or Lobo. The last boots I got from World pac if some of you don't know who thay are you have to be a shop to do biz with them. I got some in baggies 2 had silver colored steel the other had cad plate gold color. I put a set on parked it for the winter did not move it at all next spring the 2 siver colored one's were cracked beond use and thay weren't even moved al winter such crap. the others were ok and still on the bus 4 years later. I don't know the brand thay came in baggies like a lot things from them. the other thing I found out thay have the bumps on them and you can't use the rearly bolt reinforcement plates you have to get later one's. I would like to find some boots the have no bumps in them I have one new one here but don't know where to find more and the photo on parts web site's are not always the parts that are sent.

Bigbore: Once again, thanks for your awesome input.
It's good to know what to expect with the different types of boots out there. I've seen some that look horribly cheap compared to the ones I already have on my bus, so I don't want to throw anything flimsy on there that isn't going to be reliable.
I know you didn't like the ones with the bumps, but those seem to be the ones that BusDepot sells, and they are the gold-plated ones, instead of the silver ones (which you said waste in low temps).
Is the later plate your only complaint with them? |

I just would like to not change all my early bays to the late bays plates. Iam just running out of late bay plates and I have all early bays. the one cv boot in the photo with out the bumps came in one of my bays this last summer to bad there was only one and the rubber is even more heavy duty then the other ones I have. so the hunt's on. sometimes I just drive myself crazy oh well . _________________ where its cold and snowy |

I picked some up from BD recently, made by Rein. They are heavy rubber, have 'bumps', and are silver in color. I have yet to install them[spring], but hopefully their color doesn't mean they are bound to fail. _________________ > 78Grµn Westfalia `Donkey`
