Been looking for a reasonably priced 1958 era Hazet 2500 box for a little while now. Finally scored one. This just arrived today. I am super happy with the condition. Only a small number of tools are missing. Hope to find them soon.

I saw that go up on eBay last week. Only up for a few hours. You did good. It is a fairly complete kit. Congrats, Casey _________________ 1966 Java Greens |

Recently found this 16" Hazet Tourist box in amazing original condition with ALL correct tools intact. This box dates from 1951 to possibly early 1952 as it already has the narrow full circle ring in back (wide ring in only the earliest version) with "Patent angem." or patent pending stamped (earliest version does not have this text) and lid decal inside (some claim lid decal came in October 1950). It even has the early "U" underlined versions and impossible to find small wrenches and yellow tip screwdrivers intact. Please note the crude factory finish on the 772/2 bend.

Hi,
i´ve just got a similar set. Maybe a little bit better condition. What do you think it could be worth? Because i don´t have a 16" car i think about selling it to a realistic price. Sorry no pictures at the Moment (maybe tomorrow) - i have it stored in the gararge.

Thats the fun part of it
I think I have about half of the tools for it, if I use HAZET tools, but the goal is to full it with only Hazet tools
I’m missing the handles for the doors and the crome trim between the doors, does anyone have pictures of that so that I know what to look for. _________________ 65 DD klenbus

Here are pics of my 1958 100 box. It is coming along slowly. I hope to complete it some day.

Wow, thanks for the pictures germanBay & blackdog.
Great with pictures of the handle too.
My cabinet looks like Blackdods, not with the small drawers that germanBay has. So I guess mine is a late 50s? Is there a way to get morse specific about age? _________________ 65 DD klenbus

Check the catalogues in this link. You can narrow down the age of your box & any other tools.

This is in the December 1952 catalog.
Does this mean it is new for 1953?
So, I’m not sure how to call the year.
Anybody know when the time separated model year?
I thought 1952 were still dark blue inside... like the 11/51 catalog.

P.S.
Looking good Corey |
How do you know, the catalog is from December? It is just the No. 12.
I'd rather say, the 1952 catalog was already available in 1951, so you could see, whats new the next year. |

I do not know. I am stirring up discussion... and appreciate your questioning attitude.
I think the last two numbers of the earlier catalogs represent a year.
But, what does the first one or two digits represent?
For 1930-1938... they can’t all be the number six catalog... so, maybe June catalog.
This seems reasonable until 1954... with the “1454.”
Anyone’s input appreciated. I know there are some experts out there.
My original thought about yours... I have seen others state 1952 cabinet (dark blue inside)... and didn’t know if it was transitional paint (mid-year) or something catalog related. But, maybe my memory is failing? Hazet has improved their old catalog links in the last few years... so, I thought it would help with a little discussion.
