not a ghia, but loosely fits with the first image (as it has an American forces in germany plate)
My grand parents '58 23 window in Italy. Grandmother is in the front seat my dad, aunt and uncles are in the back, grandfather was taking the picture. (I've also got videos showing the bus and family in places all over Europe)
bus came back to the US, don't know what happened to it after they sold it... _________________ 2015 Jetta S

|
This is my father-in-law with my wife just after he bought the Ghia in 1970. He was on his way to Seattle to have it shipped to Korea where he and his wife spent the next 2 1/2 years. The Ghia really took it's lumps over there. My wife and I now have the car and it's just now completely restored. Will post those picts when I get a chance
If you look in the gallery under my user name you can see the car when we rescued it from his garage 4 years ago.

Udo, I also have an issue of "VW Informationen" from ~'59 containing a small photo of my dad (not with a VW), when he was a field Service Engineer out of Wolfsburg! I know there are some shots of a fabulous black Ghia cabrio in a Dutch VW dealer in the same issue. Will scan the shots and post here ASAP!
Danke.
