Looks SO comfy!
I hope that greasy pompadour isn't staining the headliner. |

My old 68 had a plaque in the door jam that read occupancy rating of two, among other stats.

No worries - it was actually a great opportunity for the owner of that old Karmann Ghia to have the entire front end replaced with brand new sheet metal and update to the newer redesigned Karmann Ghia styling at the same time. |

So with that top be correct for a Brazilian Karmann Ghia Cabriolet?
It probably is, as I doubt that anyone made some sort of aftermarket top for the Karmann Ghia back then.
Judging by the way the convertible top frame appears to be more pronounced through the fabric, I assume that there may be less padding then the German Karmann Ghia Cabriolet top.
The fact that the driver could probably easily see over the folded down top with the boot on is also likely an indication that there is less padding in the Cabriolet top.
However the increased size of that rear window is much more appealing to me.
Also - I'm not sure if that top really is shorter or if it's just my imagination, but it almost looks chopped and seems to have an overall sportier appearance somewhat reminiscent of the Porsche 550 Spyder. |
