They do seem to be taller so much easier to adjust the spray patten |
I thought you posted a couple of years ago that they were Smart car nozzles? _________________ '84 Vanagon GL 1.9 WBX

The 3-way nozzles are Smart car, the 2-way nozzles we were just talking about are from German websites. _________________ 1991 Westy auto w/ Peloquin TBD

What real VW 3 way nozzles? The only ones that i am aware of came off of a smart car and they didn't come with body seals. |

That image is from page 2. They are smart car nozzles.
The part numbers were important if they came off of a VW since the first 3 numbers show the body type and they could be used to track them down for other members. |

I have a 2001 subaru forester and the rear window nozzle looks like it could stick out far enough to work. It is a double nozzle. Has anyone explored using one of those? |

10C, that's a bang up idea, but I don't see why you couldnt install the check valve close to the pump discharge, where it would be an easier task and the check would work even better, as the seal would be assisted by the added weight. |
I ordered part 914-628-215-00-M78 from pelicanparts.com.
I put it just down stream from the pump.
It certainly improved things, but there is still a lag.
I'm thinking a second valve down stream (closer to the nozzles) might help.
I suppose there is a risk that the additional resistance from the check-valves could reduce the stream.
But, I did not notice an reduction in flow with the one valve close to the pump. _________________ ----------------------------------------------------

It sounds like something else is going on. If that check just downstream of the pump is holding, you are wasting your time adding another check. I would look at the pump, pump suction, etc. |

It is essentially working. The lag (formerly a few swipes of the arm) is now just a swipe, or less. Overall pleased with the result actually. The longer it has been since the fluid was activated, the longer the lag with re-activation. So I suspect the check valve is not 100%, or that it is not intended to hold back a long column of fluid (original application, in the smaller Porsche 914, did not likely have so much elevation gain after the valve).
Anyhow... mostly posted the info as I think the valve works pretty well, was cheap, and wanted to put an actual part number out there for anyone searching.

Well, a check valve is designed to minimize backflow. I don't think any manufacturers claim that theirs will eliminate backflow 100%. The weight of the water on the downstream side being higher than the upstream side should give better results. I have a Westy with the triple nozzle and a Syncro with the single.....neither has a check valve in there, that I know of. Anyway, I'm curious to see if I have a similar lag....will post again later. |

so... we now have the question: where is the optimal place to install a check valve? _________________ 1986 2.1L Westy 2wd Auto Trans. |

Wanted to refresh this thread. I just replaced my nozzles with three-way nozzles from T3. I’ve purchased other things from T3 and have always been happy with their products. The new nozzles are a perfect fit and work well.

The suzuki swift sx4 washer nozzles are a direct fit 3 way nozzle.
