Yes, for wall or yard art. Try to preserve the mossy patina... _________________ John Henry

Are you referring to the wreck of a split or the little pine sapling in the lower right? _________________

OG Paint flakes!! I wonder when someone's going to figure out how to take pieces like that and reattach them over a repair Seriously though, the glass could be salvaged without ruining the beautiful scene, clipping it on the other hand just might. _________________ http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=366056 - My '73 Super Build. 2332cc, 16" Fuchs |

salvage what is good: glass, dash, rear window clip, anything else good, forget the rest, too far gone. _________________ Mike "Delamaize"

It is not mine, never said it was. Just wondering how far someone would go to save an old split. I wouldn't buy it, but if it was mine, I may try to graft enough of it into an early 60's to at least get a fake split. |

Sweden must have more split beetles rotting away in the woods than any other country. Whenever one of these pictures get's posted, it seems like most of them are in Sweden. _________________ Chris

This is roughly what it says on the other site about this car:
Forest Debris found in Blekinge in old military ground winter -07/-08. As shown in the pictures so the car was in very bad shape and fell apart when the finder would try to salvage it. The remains were purchased by us and is now with the other 40th century forest wrecks we have found. Is virtually impossible to renovate. May be used as reference to see the typical 40th century details. Hood with Spin Collars, yet urfasad dörrrruta, tank, hinges, not profiled engine room hatch, etc. A very strange and interesting detail is the ID badge. It is clear that the car is Chassis 1-056950, making it an early -46: a. Despite this, it says that it was manufactured in 1947? ... Strange. When I raised the issue in Samba so someone thought that the car krockats or similar, and returned to the factory. Subsequently it has been renovated again and made it a 47: a. (Just as happened with my renoverbara 46: a, which is actually a 43: a) How can it be, of course, but strangely it is. Especially that we could get hold of two Sånna 40s cars ... |

Here a translation without Google Translate:
History Forest wreck found in Blekinge in an old military area in the winter of 2007/2008. As can be seen on the pictures, the car was in a very bad condition and fell apart when the finder tried to recover it. The remaining parts were sold to us and are now together with the other '40s forest wrecks we have found. Almost impossible to restore. Will be used as a reference to see typical '40s details.
Hood with L-handle, door window without the cut-out, fuel tank, hinges, non ribbed decklid (?), etc.
A very strange and exciting detail is the ID plate. It says clearly that the car has chassisnumber 1-056950, which makes it an early '46. Despite of this it says that it was manufactured in 1947?... Strange. When I raised the question at TheSamba, someone thought that the car had crashed or so and returned to the factory. The car would have been restored there and made into a '47 (In the same way as my restored '46, which is actually a '43) It could be like that, but it's strange. Especially that we got hold on two similar '40s cars... _________________ Modern cars are nothing but visual pollution !

I see a maybe usable apron, quarter, split window section, dash, rear glass, and who knows what else we can't see in the photo.
It may not be worth restoring, but there are a few pieces there worth trying to salvage. _________________ Mother Nature is a Mean Evil Bitch! |
