Hi, what's the function of the 3rd switch to the right?
It's on the dash of my 1993 EV Carthago from Germany

If you are talking about the switch just to left of the stereo, judging by the icon, it should be for fog lights. _________________ “May your trails be crooked, winding, lonesome, dangerous, leading to the most amazing view. May your mountains rise into and above the clouds.” - Edward Abbey

Can't see it clear enough, but if the lines are horizontal it might be a rear fog light switch. My '90 Audi has separate switches for front and rear fogs. |

what they said.
rear fogs. (front would be pointing to the left)
we used to have a T4 (as we prefer to call them over here ), can't remember the switch to be next to the stereo ...

With the switch on and the driving lights on, is there a really bright orange light illuminated in the rear maybe on one side? _________________ 91 CARAT |

those are the lights you're looking for. pre-facelift (i.e. pre-95) T4s will have only one.

interesting. It should have them.
your van's imported from Germany, I gather? Could it have been rear-ended and cobbled together unprofessionally? |

I don't think so, the two rear doors do not show any sign of 'mis allignment'. |
