praise the manufacturer! she lives!!! after 3 months of mechanical restoration, the key was turned at 11am today and it's ALIVE!! my 90 gl recieved cpr and the 2.2 suby clattered to life. within 6 minutes it quieted down and idled perfectly. with many starts and kills, I found a ps line I neglected to tighten and there are no more leaks now. she is a real lady. bled most of the air out, thanks to toms version 5 cooling design.
Although I screwed up the dash wiring, she runs flawlessly, and as soon as i can get my worthless associate over i can bleed the brakes and possibly actually putt around the block. I have definitely turned a page.
It sounds like a 302 mustang when I rev it and when it deccelerates it sounds like a 912 [blasphemy!!] proud father.
I forgot what the van feels like.....

Congratulations. I did the same thing. I started it up for the first time. So excited. Then noticed oil spraying everywhere in my beautifully clean engine bay from an untightened power steering fitting. D'oh.

Dude. Make sure your lug nuts are tight before your maiden voyage...Don't ask Embarassed

yeah, the ps line was loose also, but it dripped on the floor for a bit. you have to tighten the hell out of that. I've found a couple of leaks this am at coolant hose clamps. they are new and as tite as I can gettum. so, I'm gonna double up onem. hope it works. new gates hoses, too. my turn signals are fibrilating and the hazard lites are doa. my check engine lite is 10-07 andthe oil pressure buzzer comes on sometimes. I've got something crossed up somewhere.
