I went and looked at it, made an honest offer, he hemmed and hawed and decided he couldn't part with it. He promised me that he would call me if he changed his mind, and that it wasn't my offer or he would have countered. Imagine my surprise when it was in Steve-o's hands...
it's a cool car. probably not one for a full resto, but a cool ride to slam and put in a big motor. _________________ Stop dead photo links! Post your photos to The Samba Gallery! |

well sorry he backed out on ya. still want it?
i will be slamming it and maybe the big motor. the purists will likely hate the car with the ideas i have for it right now. i would like to resto (not completely stock) it later after my wifes vert is done. for now, i just want to make it mechanically sound and cruise it. _________________ Danny |

As long as you don't do a KCW to it, I think you'll be fine. I personally think what they did was mess up a good car with their "customizing". _________________ Bob 65 Notch S with Sunroof

well i liked the back of the car they did but did not like the bus headlights. i will not be doing body modifications to it, cuz i think it is sexy already but it will be slammed likely on a type 1 beam and have some non-stock colors on it and maybe a smoothed dash with other gauges. _________________ Danny |

i didn't like any of it IMO,
it made me throwup a little in my mouth. they seemed to take delight in removing quite a few things that was unique to a T34.
but it's not my car and this isn't the rants. _________________ Frank

Yup, t-34 only. There's a guy in Germany repoping them, but the cost is 120 Euro's, but they come with clips and seals (for those 2 strips) . _________________ Bob 65 Notch S with Sunroof

Agreed. What they did was "work around" having to try to source the correct parts to do it up right while trying to make it look like a well- thought out "vision"... same thing they did with the Notch with the Type 1 Ghia dash.

funny,.it looked more like they all stood there had a jam session on "what would piss off almost every t34 owner?" and as each answer came up,.someone said ..lets do that, cool, what else?!

Agreed. I too didn't really care for the "mods" they did to it. It's like they had a bunch of bug/bus parts, and felt a "need" to use them. I also felt that if you're going to run those large rims like that, keep them the same, as it looked like ass to me, seeing the fronts "look" tucked, while the rears still have a lip (running 2 different offsets). I mean you're already using a narrowed beam to gain clearance, why use a different rim too. Just narrow the beam a little more, and keep it consistant. It's not like it'll cost that much more.
I'd personally like to see them do a complete stock restoration. Just once. Then I might be more impressed. Anybody can cut one up, but it takes a real man to restore one correctly.
WOW, did I just say that. _________________ Bob 65 Notch S with Sunroof

i know it was a wreck, so was that Porsche, so just saying "it was just a wreck" wasn't an issue, yes?.
i just don't like the mods they did. it seems more of a hodgpodge of different things. everything done in a "oh we have this , so stick it in there."
and it's not about KCW, i don't like what they did.
i don't have to like everything they do Just because they are KCW or hate everything they do for the same reason.
even a GREAT customizer like George Barris had made a few that wasn't as impressive as others.
http://www.barris.com/gallery.html
i still don't like it.
i do like the gold one,.it seems to be well thought out. _________________ Frank
