how would setting the timing help? i had bad throttle plate shafts, and a bad dizzy, and i dropped a screw down the intake. where does timing help??? Confused

Maybe you would have dropped one of the washers off the bottom of the dizzy drive instead and had a different reason to pull the motor. Wink

Sorry to hear of your continuing problems.

UPDATE!

I searched around, found the effing screw. got it out. messed around a bit, got a new coil, fired it up. runs now, and can move up a hill slowly enough. and yes its running on all FOUR cylinders. my next step is to clean the carbs out really well. i got it to drive around the Hood and the longer i ran it the better it sounded. i need to change the oil and filters, and have to find the source of a small oil leak, and replace the valve cover seals, but what the hell, it runs finally! Very Happy

OH! and while i was driving it for the first time ever, i got it to 20 and was in second, and the front left wheel started makin noise. pulled over, thinking the front suspension was effed, to find myself with a loose wheel! PHEW! Twisted Evil Cool fixed it and kept drive'n her.

and yeah, i learned my leson and my bus isnt worth 2500. right now im guessing its worth around 800 in parts.

any other suggestions?

Stuart
