Hi

I'm fitting a gerson front bulkhead to my june 50 and am struggling to get it to fit.

My car had a front ender in 1966 so I may be fighting that. Can anyone measure the width of the front bulkhead at the top and bottom please. Not a repro one but a good one or a nos one

I realise this may be complex as the tunnel gets in the way but if anyone can help I would be a lot less stressed!!!!

Seb

Yes, these guys are an amazing resource; Had my '52 11G stored with them over the last 5 years...until I bought a house here in NorCal and wanted it back in time for the Treffen. It has front bulkhead "issues" and I now wish I'd waited so THEY could give it their magic touch. Idea Ah well, where there's a hill there's a way... Wink Arrow
Best luck on your project + a Happy New Years & prosperous 2012 to you,

We have our 49 body on a rotisserie right now and a 55 body hanging from the ceiling. I'll see If I can get some measurements for you in the next day or so.

Besides width, do you also need to know dimensions in relations to the front or back?

We may also have some actual frame dimensions in some of the books at the shop.

I'll ask hubby and post them if we do.

That would be fantastic

Heres a bad picture of the bulkhead

Image may have been reduced in size. Click image to view fullscreen.

The channels fitted perfectly on the untouched chassis before the bulkhead pulled them inwards by 10-20mm

I'm really hoping the gerson panel is just too narrow at the bottem then its an easy fix. If not then it must be the shape of the heater channels

I spent a fun morning measuring up a stunning 54 ragtop and it looks like my home made heater channel sections are to blame. The bulkhead should be 750mm,so its not far off at all.

The joys ot restoring a rusty 50 with crash damage from 66

I confirmed this 750mm measurement on our 49, same measurement a the top corners. Also, if it helps, from the center of each of the two outer bolt holes on fronts of each heater channel across is 698mm.

HTH.
