The end product will be a white Herbie but since the PO painted the door with primer or something and we replaced the passenger door, we painted the 53 like it was on the Taxi version of Herbie in Herbie Goes Bananas. Just as a joke. People love it. It's funny, they had plans for Herbie to be red originally but went with the white. I also found a site with a red Herbie from a Disney on ice show. I just tell people he is sun burnt from his time in Mexico.

Here's a couple pics of my original Herbie. Mine's a documented car used in the filming of The Love Bug and Herbie Rides Again.
These pictures were taken last year at the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix. This is Herbie's big outing each year to help raise awareness and donations for the Autism Society and the Allegheny Valley School.
And a few pictures from Mid America's FunFest in 05 with my close friend Joaquin Garay III from Herbie Goes Bananas.

Sorry for a strange question but I figure you guys would know. I've never seen a hurbie movie, was there other beetles that raced against him? Did he have a arch rival? I'm kind of hooked on being the oposite to things. So it would be fun to paint mine up like the rival just to have people scratching their heads _________________ Fatchicks: Daily drivers, donor cars, collectibles. What can't they do? |

So much for that, it's been done . Once someone else throws a cow into the air using a catapult it's just not worth doing anymore.
Thanks though _________________ Fatchicks: Daily drivers, donor cars, collectibles. What can't they do? |

I want one. On a super beetle chassis, just to piss off even more people (as that's obviously the point). Would look awesome in satin, maybe with those big iozzio fuchs, like that one vert. Mmmmm. Also, up a few posts, is that the kid from herbie goes bananas nowadays? I mean is that the OG Herbie kid? hahaaaa _________________ http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=366056 - My '73 Super Build. 2332cc, 16" Fuchs
