need some more information, I am not an expert by any means, but I can say that the rust condition, motor, and other mech parts conditions, and bits and pieces missing/presert will help with cost estimate.
just by what I am seeing I would offer $1000, and see what he says. _________________ Mike "Delamaize"

I would offer 2,500.00. Just from the pic, it looks pretty solid. _________________ RUSTFARMER....I like anything old and rusty! |

Quickly give him the 500 and call it a day before somebody else does. That looks like a solid bus, especially on the east coast. |

Dang. I'd be paying whatever he wanted and ask him for extraneous stuff he has that go with it. Maybe say, "$501" just to get the ball rolling. |

From the one picture and without examining the bus: I would say it is worth UP TO $4,500. I would think if you could acquire it for $1,000 or less you will have got one heck of a bargain. |

He said no to 500 bucks, offer him 1000 bucks. Start there before offering more. His selling price might be just that, but you will never know if you start your offer too high. IMO
I agree though, need more info and pics of overall condition. Rust may be a big factor. _________________ ----VW's in my garage----

so much for reading comprehension.
a better description of what is there or not there, overall condition or issues, and more pics would help with estimating an offer. is there paperwork or will that be a hassle in the future?
i agree, offer $1000 (it does look decent in that one pic) and if he says no to that, then tell him he needs to tell you what he wants for it because you don't have time to play games. |

Agreed, no time for games because HE is the one who needs cash and wants it gone. _________________ It's not how wide your hatch is, it's what you do with it.

How did the 500 come up was that an offer you made or did he just say "I know what these things are worth and 500 wont take it home" ? I usually just say lets just be reasonable and you tell me what you think is fair. telling the seller anything about playing games can be insulting. What ever he tells you he thinks is "fair" is still negotiable. If you play the game of making a low ball offer then up it as necessary till he is content you will end up paying too much or not getting it. He must name a price _________________ April 3rd 62 standard mgr/pw

That bus has not been sitting in the same spot for ten years unless he's got a midget with a lawn mover living in the bus... _________________ Roads Scholar &

Is there any particular reason why it is not in your driveway right now or are you just waiting for someone else to get it? _________________ 58 Coral Red ragtop(Diana's car)

That bus is awesome. Damn, I wish buses were "rust free" like that here in the Northeast. For this area of the world, that thing is "rust free".
If it were me, I would offer $1500 and see where it goes. You said "he needs money and wants it gone", I think starting at $1500 is telling the guy you are interested and willing to make a deal. _________________ Wanted : January '57 Palm Green Sand Green Bus Parts - Middle and Rear Seat Frames - flat back. Just flat out ask him " What would it take to make it mine"? And see where it goes from there. _________________ RUSTFARMER....I like anything old and rusty! |
